Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions we receive before and after product adoption. For anything else, please reach out via the contact form.

  • In the past we used C++Builder. Today we use Visual Studio 2022 with C#. For automation equipment we rely on QMachineStudio's XScript and the GUI designer.
  • We use GitHub as our primary repository, with local backups on each developer's machine. Older codebases are archived on an internal SVN server.
  • Please email contact@ict-lab.com with: (1) machine and time of occurrence, (2) current SW version, (3) description of the issue, (4) frequency, (5) log data. More detail means faster root cause analysis.
  • One year of free maintenance is provided after delivery. Issues caused by intentional or careless misuse are excluded. Additional feature development incurs a separate fee. If the source is modified directly by the customer, free support may be limited.
  • For QMachineStudio-based work we provide the project files and XScript sources by default, so your team can inspect and maintain the sequences, screens, and parameters yourselves. Parts developed directly in C# / C++ (custom drivers, communication and vision libraries, core control modules, and the like) embody ICT's proprietary technology and know-how, so they are not part of the default deliverables. If you need the source for this layer, it can be provided under a separate agreement made at contract time — the scope, usage (license) terms, confidentiality (NDA), and the associated cost are agreed in advance according to the nature of the project. Note also that QMachineStudio itself is licensed as a runtime (USB dongle); the product's internal source is not part of any source delivery. If a clear source-provision scope matters for your project, let us know during the quotation stage and we will reflect it in the contract.
  • (1) QMachineStudio development and sales, (2) automation equipment control software development, (3) training and consulting, (4) machine vision algorithm development, (5) machine vision hardware sales.
  • An approach using industrial PCs (IPCs) to control equipment. Sensor inputs are processed on the IPC, then motors and valves are actuated. It makes complex algorithms, remote control, and integration with upper systems straightforward — which is why PC control has become the modern standard.
